I thought I would take this opportunity to write a free review of SweetHacks dot com. I’m taking this opportunity to both introduce you to a new blog and at the same time let readers see what to expect of a review from Things That Are Fun!

First Things First: Free Ads
First I’d like to tell you about a great idea I just read about over at SweetHacks dot com.  To spread the word just a little more about his site, we have been given a chance to get some free advertising.  Just send an email with “Free Ads” as the subject and tell them your choice of ad location and that’s it.  It sounds like you may be able to influence your ad location, so a little link love never hurt.  Anyways, you can check out the rest of the details on the Free Ads Here.

Well I decided to give ReviewMe reviews a shot.  I noticed on a lot of other blogs have been using it and thought it might even increase visitors to the site if I am able to write honest, credible reviews. I’m a newbie when it comes to this but I’m anxious for my first review to be ordered.

I came across a pretty nifty web development blog created by Jon Lee the other day.  Covering a wide variety of technology based subjects, if you’re interested in blogging or computers, then this site might be good for you.

Jon Lee has several articles that caught my attention the first time I looked over his blog.  I was particularly interested in his post How to Recover Your Hacked Blog or Site.  That would probably be the worst thing that I could think of happening to my blog.  As soon as I read it I began looking more into backing up both my content and design of my site.  I found BlogBackOnline to be useful (and it’s free), but I’m still looking at other options now.  Thanks Jon.

Ben Gillbanks, creator of Binary Moon, is holding a link competition to promote the changes he is making to his blog. He says he is looking for sites that are new to him (I’m sure this site will be) that are about video games, movies, books etc (Hey, that sounds a lot like Things That Are Fun!).  So, for the prizes he’s giving away for a review, I thought it was worth a shot.

Tyler Cruz, an internet entrepreneur, is offering a free backlink to anyone that writes a review of his site with his specified tags. Since I’m always up for a good backlink, I decided to look around his site for some inspiration and was pleased with what I found.

 Starting at a young age, Tyler began building a nice resume of websites that he still maintains and grows today.  His two larger sites, Movie-Vault.com and PokerForums.org are particular interesting to me since I enjoy both Movies and Poker (who doesn’t?).  The are both great informational and conversational websites providing great reader experiences with thousands of entries and members.

 But the site that I just subscribed to through the RSS feed is Tyler Cruz’s personal blog.  With a quickly approaching almost 2 years of posts and succinct categories, navigation around the site is relatively easy. Here you can find information about his experiences of building different websites along with advice that can be very useful to the beginning blogger. Tyler is not scared to share with people his lofty (yet probably obtainable) goals, which while your reading makes you want to get involved in the same way.

 A humorous (40 Hour Work Week), insightful (some personal, some practical advice) and motivating site, I would recommend checking it out as I’m going to do the same.

Now this sounds like a Cow-mazing contest.  John Cow dot com is holding a contest where you can win $500 dollars worth of Playstation 3, XBox 360 or Wii or any other idea you can spend that much money on.  All you have to do is write about it on your blog and send him an email letting him know about your post. 

 While you’re there, he has some interesting information and advice on his site too (as well as web hosting info).  I would definitely look into checking it out.  I liked it so much I just subscribed to his RSS feed.

Over at “I Just Got Blogged”, a multi topic blog, they are giving a free linkbacks in you review their site. I Just Got Blogged is a miscellaneous type blog somewhat like ThingThatAreFun.com. You can find informational posts on anything from stocks to movie reviews to personal information.

There are hundreds of posts to look through, so stop by if you have time and check it out. Check out his Transformer review especially, I hope it’s as good as the site says it is.
